TEYC Birmingham South Turns 1!

June 6, 2024
3 minute read

Here at The Early Years Company, we can not believe it has been a whole year since we welcomed our first franchisee, Kelly Fisher-Beasley. Her business has grown into a huge success and we couldn't be prouder of her! We caught up with Kelly to see how she has found her first year...

What role were you doing when you first heard of the franchise opportunity?

I can still remember very clearly the day I saw the post from Kelly Hill about the TEYC opportunity. I was (and still am) the Early Years Advisor for a large organisation in Birmingham, supporting the implementation and delivery of the EYFS in several PVI settings. Having been there for 16 years I was still passionate about my role, but knew I could do more to support the industry on a wider scale.

Why did it sound like something you wanted to do?

As soon as I saw the post, without sounding cliché, I knew it was something I could do and without hesitation contacted Kelly immediately. Something sparked in me knowing that this could be exciting!

How the journey has been?

I am now at my year anniversary with TEYC and it has been an amazing 12 months! I have met so many new settings and early years professionals who are so committed to adding impact to their children and families. It has genuinely been a pleasure to support so many different practitioners.

It has also been amazing to work alongside Kelly and the in house team at TEYC who have been so supportive.

What's been your best highlight so far?

Building new relationships with professionals that I would possibly never have had the opportunity to do if I wasn't a TEYC franchisee. We all know early years can be a tough place at times, but to have that network of people around you really does make a difference!

What is your favourite thing about owning a TEYC franchise?

For me owning my TEYC franchise has given me greater flexibility with my work life balance and time with my family. Even just the simple things such as taking my daughter to school or attending assemblies/workshops.

I can also maintain my existing role on a part time basis and organise training or coaching on my non- working days when I want.

It ultimately gives me a great balance between keeping my feet on the ground, understanding what is going on at ground level in settings, and utilising that knowledge in my business.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I honestly feel very blessed to have the opportunity to manage my two roles and I would like to thank Kelly Hill for seeing my potential and encouraging me all the way. It means a lot!

Thank you Kelly, it is a pleasure to work alongside you!
